Re: wedding

Do this diet, it will help you feel much better apart from cleansing your system. But for getting definite results on losing weight around your belly, the best way is to do brisk walking every morning - atleast 3 kilometres a day.

Also, drink about 10-12 tall glasses of water every day. Best wishes!

Re: wedding

The entire idea about having an ideal weight is that the body should function in an efficient manner, and have enough reserves of nutrients for itself. The body is an amazing machine - if you feed it more than it needs, it starts storing the extra 'energy' (as fats) for a rainy day - if it occurs, that is. But on the other hand, the body programs itself to permanently have that store if you make it habituated to storing. The programming happens over a long period. Which means that the de-programming also takes time. Weight loss diets are a quick way to lose some weight, but the de-programming happens only if you convince the body that the lesser food intake is actually suffcient, and exercises help a lot in this process.

In short, start following a good diet pattern (even after this diet is over), and also make sure that you exercise regularly. That will definitely help in the long run.

Best wishes!

Hi, First u must use brown

Hi, First u must use brown rice instead of white rice because of more fibre content in it. u can biol them with some salt, drain the water... on fifth day u can make the gravy of tomatoes... add one small tea spoon of oil.add jeera. half onion ginger and sute it,and cut tomatoes and steam them with little water when it get soften add more water.and add little black salt and pepper.and add coriander. it sreally amazing with can have cut tomatoes as a salad..
6th day same boil the rice.. and saute the veggies together acc to ur preference.and mix them to make the pulao.and can make the chutney its very good chutney.. take a bunch of green coriander clean it,, In the grinder..add 2-3 cloves of garlic.add chopped coriander, half tomato, 1/2 green chilli. and grind them together.. and put in the bowl and salt acc to taste and squeeze one lemon..and mix it.. freeze it liitle and have it with pulao..
7th day it a very easy day ,, have one pineapple juice, the orange juice,, and in the afternoon.. papaya shake without sugar.. u will feel full all day..can have pulao or a soup as u wish.. remember to drink water upto 12-15 glasses.

Warm regards

Tea with milk

Hi!
I want to know if I can have tea with milk on all days while following GM diet? I am used to having sugarless tea but 3(three) times in a day.
Also can I have 5 almonds and 2 walnuts everyday? Can this wonder soup be consumed everyday or only on day 4?
Please help me with these queries!!

Re: Tea with milk

Hi SG,
If you just can not stay without your daily dose of tea, have a cup of it in the morning (with little milk, if you have to.) I'm not sure if you can take almonds/walnuts. They have oil. If you have to, soak your almonds for atleast 12 hours in water and peel off the skin before consuming.
Best wishes.

Can the Wonder Soup be consumed on the days

PCOS and thyroid

Hi Everyone,

I was recently diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome and thyroid (which really lessens the chances of conceiving). I am overweight, also because of this problem and desperately trying to lose some weight. Does anyone know if I can go for the GM diet in this condition, will it affect or escalate my problem further? And if this diet will help me lose weight? Because I have gone thru GM Diet before and it did help me lose like 5 kgs but that was when i didnt have this problem. Will it work the same now as well?

Can someone please guide me here. It will be highly appreciated.

Thank you!

omit beef compleely from the schedule, stick to the rest. depends how much the diet will work for u, stick to i, but d not starve, this will help u lose..and i would suggest walking to be done along with the diet, but major brisk walking, gyming , when left can add ponds to you.

Can you specify the weight (in g) of rice suggested in the Diet

Hello,

It is mentioned that one can consume 1 cup of rice day 4 onwards.
Since the size of the cups can vary, could anyone tell me the recommended weight of rice that needs to be consumed.

Thank You

US standards:

1 cup = 8 oz

8 oz = 229 gms (.25 Kg)

Hope this helps!

Second time on GM diet- Happy with the first time result!

Hi,

I did GM diet last month and was able to lose 8 pounds and been able to keep it off. I just couldn't wait to start again..so here am, today is my Day 1. feel pretty good abt it.. I did the non veg version last time, going to do the veggie version today..
Things I learned from last diet..

1.CUSTOMIZE it, its okay..cuz its important that u finish 7 days...
2.Spent some time preparing the soup, cutting the fruits etc
3.Never be hungry, then u ll get the urge to cheat

I was debating about the rice Vs lentils on the day 5. I am big protein fan, so I am gonna stick to Lentils/pulses.
My plan : since we can have 20 OZ protein..which is roughly around 2.4 cups of dals.. I am gonna stick to Moong dal, Rajma, pinto beans, black beans..

When i did last time, I had a lot of hummus..I know i m not supposed to eat it, but what the heck..i dint wanna stay hungry... i also had falafel balls since they are veggies...

Make ur soup yummy, i used 1 tbspoon of oil and used PAM cooking spray a lot, since it has no cals or fat..i sauted my veggies and added veggie broth and added chicken buillions...its yum! make in small quantites, that way u dont have to eat the same one everyday...

Good luck to everyone!!

Swathy

Re: Second time on GM diet- Happy with the first time result!

Hello Swathy,

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences! Your tips should definitely help a lot of people on how to go about those seven days!

Also - did you primarily follow this diet program for weight loss? What was your overall experience like (apart from just the weight loss)? Are you doing this diet the second time for weight loss again, or because of the other benefits that you see? If so, could you briefly mention them here? Thanks and best wishes.

Posted by root on Fri, 11/20/2009 - 23:57
Certainly..

It's a good question that you have raised, Root..I think i started it back for weightloss..since I want to shed around 40 pounds..Secondly, its very doable, I mean you are not starving or putting ur body through anything terrible and the results are amazing too..
I did a simple math, if you count your calories and work out everyday, you can lose upto 2 lbs per week, and this diet helped me to lose what i would have lost in 1 month.

Initially I did this diet as a jump start to my weight loss regime of diet & workout and I thot i ll work on keeping the weight off and continue with my regular diet, but once I was able to succesfully complete the diet (my friends couldn't finish) and the result wasnt bad eihter so I am ready to do it again..I think i would like to keep doing this diet like for ever...

It also helped me to change my mindset about things..like I am not a fruit lover, so the Day1 was horrible for me last time..but yday wasnt all that bad..and I think i started appreciating fruits much better now...
I learned how to cook in 1 Tbs of oil..I made aloogobi last time.. for today (Day2) my breakfast was aloo palak..since it said, i can have aloo in the morning..

So my advise will be again..relax, have fun and explore new food items that u can have each day..I am trying on different veggies than last time..

Good luck!

S

Re: Hi, I am 5'2 and 107 pounds. I am plng to do it for detox on

Hello.
I'm not sure if this diet will be helpful in your case. Nor am I really qualified to be able to answer questions of this kind that too over such a restrictive forum! You should take some professional advice - probably, from some certified dieticians.
Having said that, please consume to lot of fruits to start with, and have Wonder Soup and lots of (warm) water every day. Fruits are nature's best cleansers, and they will help you in the detox process. Eat fruits of the season as much as possible.
Best wishes!
